Our Difference

We support the Sector, and this is how:

  • Writing

We carefully write and broadly share papers (including with Federal, States and Territories Governments) around various issues as this newish sector evolves.

  • Research (Survey)

Via Orima Research https://orima.com.au/ and at our own expense we have commissioned a survey to seek data (current and ongoing) on actual lived experience combined SDA and other supports costs, particularly around whether and how SDA can reduce the costs of other supports because of the efficiencies that excellent SDA housing can bring.

  • Pro Bono Work

We’re pleased that it’s likely we can support you via your NDIA funding. However sometimes that’s a challenge and we try not to leave people high and dry when they’re in need. That can mean that we work for free and/or we seek out other suitable representation like Lawyers or Advocates.

  • Hospitals (Long Stay)

We’re spending lots of time and energy attempting to assist Federal, State and Territories’ Governments in seeking swift hospital discharge for long stay patients - when the only barrier to discharge from hospital is a lack of suitable housing to transition to. Many patients in that situation are SDA eligible and/or eligible for other Home and Living Supports. We are stepping up to help that discharge process in a number of ways.

  • SDA for Indigenous Australians in Remote and Very Remote Communities

We’re excited and proud to say we’re working on that. It’s early days and we’ll keep our website updated as to progress.

  • SDA Eligibility Online Tool

We've helped develop an online Eligibility Tool to benefit our engagements and also the sector broadly.
